Doha: A number of roads in Doha will be temporarily closed for the Doha Marathon 2023 scheduled to happen tomorrow, January 20, 2023.

The Ministry of Interior in Qatar stated that Corniche, Katara, The Pearl Qatar and Lusail, and other adjacent lanes are among those to be closed to traffic on January 20 from 3am to 12 noon.

Organized by the Qatar Athletics Federation, the Ooredoo Doha Marathon is an annual sporting event and is the Qatari capital’s biggest running event.
The MOI advised commuters to take alternative routes, and indicated that traffic patrols will be placed to regulate traffic movement surrounding the marathon tracks.

The marathon will feature four courses for all running abilities, including a full marathon, half-marathon, as well both 5km and 10km routes and a 1km route for children under 13.

Qatari entrants in each category will be awarded special prizes.

Participants with disabilities can also participate in all distance categories up to the 21km category.

8,000 runners have registered for the Ooredoo Doha Marathon this year, setting a new record for participants.
