Qatar Cycling & Triathlon Federation’s general assembly held at QOC


The General Assembly of the Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation (QCTF) was held at the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) headquarters in the presence of QOC representatives.
The General Assembly kicked off with a presentation of the report of the activities of QCTF, whether in cycling or triathlon, for the sports season 2021-2022.
The presentation also detailed the achievements, participation of local cyclists and hosting of events by QCTF.
Last week’s Asian Triathlon Cup staged by QCTF was also mentioned in the presentation. Future events and championships that have been planned by QCTF were also announced.
The financial audits and payments issues were also discussed. Later, the Board of Directors renewed confidence in the leadership of President Dr. Mohamed Jaham al-Kuwari for a new term.
The council, which will handle the work of QCTF during the next session, includes Mohamed Jaham al-Kuwari as President of QCTF, Thani Khalifa al-Zaraa, Secretary-General and Abdullah al-Hammadi. Dr Nasser Saqr al-Mohannadi and Fatima Issa al-Ghanim are members of the Board of Directors, it was confirmed. The General Assembly decided to seek further stability obtained through achievements of the past season. The General Assembly showed confidence to work with the current board of directors of QCTF.
After completing the presentation, Dr Mohamed al-Kuwari along with the members of the Board of Directors were congratulated for winning the next term in office. Dr Mohamed al-Kuwari thanked the QOC and the members of federation for showing confidence in his team. He said his team will continue to work diligently in an effort to make cycling and triathlon more popular in Qatar.
“Our goal is to continue building on the successes achieved in the past few years and I am confident we will deliver on our promise,” the President of QCTF, said.
“We now have a great responsibility on all of us within the federation but I trust my team, members of the Council and in their ability to complete the journey and implement the
QCTF’s strategies in the coming years, no matter what difficulties we will face,” he said.
“We are confident that the next season will be better than the previous ones and we will work as a team to deliver positive results on the ground,” he said.
“We have to work hard to make our sport is easily accessible to every sport lover in the country. We saw a huge interest from fans during the triathlon event last week. This trend will grow further in the weeks and months ahead,” the President added.
